Hi all, I’m new to video editing, and I just bought the Sony a6500 to film in 4k. My current laptop (Surface Pro 4) is pretty slow when it comes to editing any video, let alone 4k. I have been researching laptops for the last few weeks and I’m looking closely at the following:
Dell XPS ($1,719.99 on Amazon currently) 15.6" 4k touch screen Intel Core i7-7700 HQ Quad Core, up to 3.8 GHz 1 TB SSD 4 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics 16 GB RAM

HP SPECTRE x360 (8th gen) ($1,774.49 on Amazon currently) 15.6" 4k touch screen Intel Core i7-85500 (8th gen), Quad Core, up to 4 GHz 1 TB SSD 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics 16 GB RAM
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I’m most confused over the 7th or 8th gen processor — is there really a BIG enhancement between 7th and 8th? And the graphics card — which is better??
