OpenShot Video Editing Beginner Tutorial

Get started introduction to Open Shot free and open source video editor.   9. I’m using OpenShot 2.4.2 and I have some issues with the sound on merging files. When merging two or more video files at the merging point some noise is added to the final video. Anyone knows how to get rid of this noise?

    Mine is like…terrible. Everytime I do something it says: "Not Responding…" and I can’t do anything for around a minute.

  17. I’m using window XP and when I start openshot video editor by clicking on icon a message displays that getfileinformationbyhandleEX is not found in kernel32.dll

  18. so how can you add in the audio to the app? like for example you already downloaded the audio into your pc but I have problems transferring it to the app… dragging the audio that i downloaded wont work. Pls help me! thanks

  20. My friend I (like many others) are new to video editing. I myself, need step by step SLOW INSTRUCTIONS. I COULDN’T FOLLOW YOU ON YOUR SHOT CUT INSTRUCTIONS. AND I CAN’T FOLLOW YOU ON THIS ONE EITHER. CAN’T SOMEONE MAKE A SLOW STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO. REPEATING STEPS SEVERAL TIMES TO ENSURE YOUR AUDIENCE UNDERSTANDS HOW TO USE THE PROGRAM. PERHAPS YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR TITLE, TO OPENSHOT TUTORIAL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HAVE A KNOWLEDGE OR UNDERSTANDING OF VIDEO EDITING.

  22. This is so sad they don’t make 32-bit version OpenShot :((( Now I have to mess with buggy animations in Shotcut.
    Can you please advise a tool for 2D animation for generic montage (featuring earthquake, rapid rotations, curvy movements)?
    By now I have to do it frame by frame as in old good times, but it seems more frustrating than inspiring.

Hi, good software, but I really has given me some headaches from time to time, and this time It actually got me really upset, I had jus finished an amazing video for a mandatory physics homework and the program crashed, I could not be able to access anything in my coputer, the screen just froze and could do nothing about it, so I turned it off and the programm was saved but openshot wouldnot allow me access to the working file, It took me 2 hours to edit that video and I saved every new editing every 3 minutes but that was not enough, even though It was saved I could not enter the file, It showed: Failed to load project file /path/ namefile: ‘utf-8’ codec cannot decode byte 0xcb in position 2: invalid continuation byte.
    Dude this was totally bullshit, all night finishing the work and then puff you have nothing and need to start all over again. What a fucking hell your program brought me tonight. It is actually a nice software but sometimes bugs and errors push too hard my limits for my regard and usefulness of this.

  31. this is quite possibly the absolute worst video editing software i have ever used. i have never seen something so infuriatingly slow, buggy, crashy, and just plain assnine. at first it’s ok, but the longer you use it during an edit the worse it gets, to the point where even moving the timeline takes 10 minutes. forget about making one simple edit to an item on the timeline, eventually it gets to the point where one little thing takes 30 minutes. there is no excuse for this at all. especially not on an i7 oc’d to 4.5 with 16gb of ram. also way to go not optimizing it to utilize gpu to aid in the process. i thought i was alone with the billion infuriating problems i was having but so many others are all over the forums posting about similar isues, such as the annoying snap crackle pop when exporting a video with audio added to the timeline. not even windows movie maker is that bad. seriously, what the fuck. this program will eat hours of your life away just trying to do something as simple as creating a video.

  35. do you have a simple video where you take a simple video file, mark points "A" and "B" and just export that part of the video??
